SSIF PKU Award 2012

During the 2012 European Phenylketonuria Group Symposium “Advances and Challenges in PKU”, which took place on 23-24 March in Rome, Italy, two PKU Awards were given by Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) for the two best oral communications.

Awards were announced by Ania C. Muntau from the Departments of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and of Molecular Pediatrics, Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany.

The SSIF PKU Award for best oral communication in basic research was received by Hiu Man Viecelli from the Department of Paediatrics, University of Zurich, Switzerland.

The SSIF PKU Award for best oral communication in clinical practice was given to Rianne Jahja, Beatrix Children’s Hospital, University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands.
