The PKU Academy in collaboration with EXCEMED has developed a public competition for the award of a fellowship in the field of phenylketonuria (PKU). The fellowship is given to one young graduate in medicine, specialised or specialising in metabolic disorders, or to scientists or dietitians, with at least one year experience in the PKU field. It supports planned research projects aims to broaden the experience he/she has already acquired and documented in the field of PKU.

Contributions from delegates are featured strongly at the PKU annual conferences. Young scientists and clinicians are recognised through an award for the best oral communication at the meeting in basic research or in clinical research.

The Asbjørn Følling Award is an annual award given by the European Phenylketonuria Group for outstanding achievements in the field of phenylketonuria.
