1. General

EXCEMED respects the privacy of every individual who visits www.excemed.org. This Privacy Policy outlines the information that the Foundation will collect and how we will use that information.

2. Personally-Identifiable Information

There may be cases where the Foundation will ask you for personally-identifiable information such as your name, mailing address, and email address. For example, we may request personally-identifiable information when you participate in a survey, or other service that requires registration or subscription. The Foundation will not collect any personally-identifiable information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily.

Except as stated in this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise stated at the time personally-identifiable information is gathered, we will not provide personally-identifiable information to third parties who are not under the direction and control of the Foundation.

3. Sign-up for Updates

In compliance with the article 13 of Legislative Decree n. 196, 30 June 2003 of the Italian Law, we hereby give you the following information:

a) Personal data from you supplied for the registration to the updates will be processed for the purpose of keeping you up to date about new conferences, courses or publications in your area of specialization;

b) Your personal data will be processed, with or without the use of electronic or automated means, via suitable tools that will guarantee security and confidentiality;

c) The bestowal of Personal data (e-mail address) is necessary to send you the updates; if you decline to supply this information this will involve the impossibility of the registration, all other information that is not submitted will not jeopardize the registration;

d) The personal data from you supplied will not be communicated or disseminated to third parties;

e) At anytime you may exercise your rights as laid down in the art. 7 of Legislative Decree n. 196, 30 June 2003 of the Italian Law, by contacting the Data Controller EXCEMED info@excemed.org.

4. Online Registration Form

In compliance with the article 13 of Legislative Decree n. 196, 30 June 2003 of the Italian Law, we hereby give you the following information:

a) Personal data from you supplied for the registration to our conferences will be processed for the purpose of administrative management of the latter (invoicing, accounting, creation of the list of participants);

b) Your personal data will be processed, with or without the use of electronic or automated means, via suitable tools that will guarantee security and confidentiality;

c) The bestowal of Personal data related to the conditions of payment, (for example, in case of payment by credit card, the name of the holder and his Personal data) is obligatory for the registration to our conferences; the eventual refusal to supply the data will involve the impossibility of the registration;

d) Personal data from you supplied, by consent, could be used also to send you (via email or ordinary post) information about conferences, courses or other future initiatives, organized by the Foundation;

e) Personal data from you supplied will be communicated to agencies that take care of the logistics of the event and to the other participants to the conference, and will be communicated to Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Authorities;

f) At anytime you may exercise your rights as laid down in the art. 7 of Legislative Decree n. 196, 30 June 2003 of the Italian Law, by contacting the Data Controller EXCEMED info@excemed.org.

5. Information Collected Automatically

The Foundation may also automatically collect non-personally-identifiable information about your use of the Web Site, such as the domain from which you access the Internet, the date and time you access the Web Site, and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our Web Site. This information will not be linked to personally-identifiable information. The Foundation may use this information to analyze and enhance the Web Site, and may aggregate this information and share such aggregated information with business partners, sponsors and other third parties.

6. Links to Other Web Sites

The Web Site may allow links to various other web sites. The Foundation assumes no responsibility for the information practices of sites you are able to access through the Web Site. These links to other sites do not imply affiliation or endorsement of a linked site.

7. Security

The importance of security for all personally-identifiable information associated with visitors to the Web Site is of utmost concern to us. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure. As a result, the Foundation cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your personally-identifiable information, we will take reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our systems in accordance with applicable Law requirements.

8. Your Acceptance of These Terms

By using the Web Site, you signify your assent to the Foundation Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the Web Site. Your continued use of the Web Site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes. The Foundation will, however, use personally-identifiable information only in accordance with the version of the Privacy Policy under which the information was collected.
