The Foundation is pursuing the harmonization of CME (continuing medical education) / CPD (continuing professional development) systems amongst different nations and the development of CME/CPD systems in countries where no such systems yet exist.
From 2003 to 2011, the Foundation organized and supported the Rome Group meetings, bringing together the most important contributors to CME from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
The objective of The Rome Group was to identify and reach consensus on common values in CME, so that standards can be harmonized across nations.
