EXCEMED – Excellence in Medical Education has offered world-class education to thousands of healthcare professionals over the past four decades, organizing over 2,000 international scientific congresses with more than 500 proceedings appearing in leading international publications.
EXCEMED pioneered CME-accreditation for live events in Europe in the ‘80s and CME-accreditation for online courses since 2000. EXCEMED is now offering CME programs worldwide.
As a non-profit global organization, EXCEMED is dedicated to improving the patient’s life through the provision of independent, high-impact continuing medical education to scientists, physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
The Foundation was created in the 70s to honour the memory of Professor Cesare Serono, an Italian scientist who devoted his life to improving health and patient care. EXCEMED changed its name from Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) on 28 April 2014.
EXCEMED is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and has an Operational Office in Rome, Italy.
