  • Molecular hallmarks of ATC and the genetic basis of the disease
  • Exploration of the factors that trigger ATC in patients with prior history of thyroid disease or radiation exposure
  • Multimodal therapeutic approaches
  • Prevalence studies in regions where iodine deficiency remains an issue
  • Improved diagnosis and recognition of ‘at risk’ individuals
  • Although ATC is rare, it is also one of the most aggressive malignancies
  • Should we be raising awareness of the disease among ‘at risk’ groups?
