Hypertension guidelines

Hypertension guidelines
  • Cardiometabolic
  • Hypertension

Guidelines for the management of hypertension have been published from all continents and many individual countries in the world. These guidelines play an important role in the optimal management of hypertension. They agree on major issues, such as diagnostic evaluation, risk assessment and the role of lifestyle modification. However, there are disagreements between and inconsistencies within different guidelines concerning the definition of hypertension, treatment goals and treatment strategies. Hypertension management remains an individual “contract” between a patient and his/her physician.
