Over the past year, steps have been taken to understand the immunopathogenic mechanisms underlying multiple sclerosis, leading to the discovery of new treatment targets and the development of innovative treatments.
Today, there is an extensive therapeutic armamentarium for those with the relapsing remitting form of the disease and new treatment options are also available for progressive MS. Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial in order to prevent disability, but it is still unclear how to select the right treatment for each patient and which is the safest and more effective sequence of therapies.
New risks, in fact, have emerged making treatment choices challenging. Complex patients require a comprehensive management programme addressing and managing comorbidities and preventing treatment risks.
EXCEMED offers to learners a complete blended Learning Journey to strengthen knowledge in the main immunological, clinical and therapeutic dynamics characterizing modern MS. We address competence in everyday management of patients as well as confidence in decision making. A multistep approach will be used, encompassing web-based and live activities; all activities – in-person and online – will involve the full interactivity of learners. Educational content will be delivered by international and local speakers with extensive expertise in the MS field.
By attending this live educational workshop you will be able to:
• Recognize the emerging immunological targets for MS treatments
• Illustrate new diagnostic criteria for MS
• Quantify risks of new MS treatments
• Adapt treatment strategies to common challenging clinical conditions
