A major conference for clinicians and scientists concerned with diabetes. The conference theme is the never ending balance between hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia.
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to Stockholm in September 2015 to participate in the 50th EASD Annual Meeting. Stockholm is a beautiful city which is built on several islands and close to a wonderful archipelago that is easily reached by numerous steamers. The city center holds several attractive museums, including the magnificent king’s ship Vasa that was elevated from the sea bed and preserved 333 years after it capsized on its maiden trip and the newly built ABBA museum.
The flyers and posters for the meeting symbolise the lifelong focus on the balance in the blood which every person with diabetes experiences – the never ending balance between hyperglcaemia and hypoglycaemia. The flyers and posters also depict symbols and signs of Stockholm with the hope that the EASD Meeting 2015 in Stockholm will be an important event for bringing new scientific understanding and solutions for diabetes.
The conference and exhibition centre “Stockholmsmässan” will serve as the meeting venue. It was the venue also for the previous EASD meetings in Stockholm, in 1995 and 2010. It is easily accessible in about 10 minutes by train from the city centre. The meeting will commence with the official Opening Ceremony on 15 September and end at lunchtime on 19 September. We hope that EASD 2015 will be a scientifically successful meeting in the friendly and welcoming city of Stockholm and I look forward to seeing you here in September 2015!
