Jiwon Oh is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Neurology at the University of Toronto. After obtaining her MD from the Faculty of Medicine at Queen’s University in 2005, she completed a neurology residency at the University of Toronto in 2010. She subsequently pursed a clinical and research fellowship in neuroimmunology and neurological infections at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and concurrently completed a PhD in the Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Oh is currently on staff at St. Michael’s Hospital (Toronto, Canada), and specializes in the care of patients with neuroimmunological disorders, with specific interest in patients with multiple sclerosis. Dr. Oh’s research focuses on the development of advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques in the spinal cord of MS patients. Using advanced techniques such as diffusion- tensor and magnetization-transfer imaging, she hopes to clarify how microstructural changes in the spinal cord cause sensorimotor deficits in MS patients and develop these markers as surrogate outcome measures in clinical trial settings.
