Reproductive biology is continuously evolving applying more sophisticated technologies. The 2015 live educational course will focus on the latest advancements of techniques and procedures used in modern ART laboratories. Embryologists working in this field have the need to keep abreast on the most practical and innovative discoveries, in order to improve their competence in reproductive healthcare. According to the latest trends to extend the embryo culture to the blastocyst stage and to perform a single embryo transfer, great efforts were made aiming to improve and to assess the embryo culture systems. Simultaneously, further enhancements in vitrification procedures have markedly improved the efficacy of cryopreservation, in terms of oocyte and embryo survival and pregnancy rates. Furthermore, the embryo selection strategies, both invasive and not-invasive, were extensively employed with the final goal to identify the embryo with the highest implantation potential. As established, aneuploidy rates in human embryos can reach the 60% or above, leading to high implantation failure and miscarriage rates. For this reason, the development of new genetic testing methods for aneuploidy screening is of particular interest, thus having the possibility to select the most viable embryos. Renowned specialists of the field will investigate all these hot topics, sharing their knowledge and experience. Additionally, there will be two debates to discuss different aspects of on the choice of culture media and the applications of morphokinetics. Both topics have been the subject of controversy and will be reviewed in detail, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages. This meeting will provide the participants also with the opportunity to actively discuss all the latest updates in ART, and will stimulate them to apply new discoveries.
After attending this live educational course, participants will be able to:
