Aim

Based on current evidence, a multidisciplinary approach is strongly recommended for improving the clinical outcome and survival rates of metastatic  colorectal  cancer  patients.  This  live  educational preceptorship course will give participants the opportunity to observe how  a  multidisciplinary  approach  is  applied  within  a  centre  of excellence.  This  live  educational  preceptorship  course  will  be practice-oriented and will allow participants to fully integrate into the daily activity of the centre. The preceptorship encompasses lectures, clinical case study discussions, question and answer sessions and participation in a multidisciplinary team meeting.

Learning objectives

After attending the live educational preceptorship course, participants will be able to:

  • Define criteria for the resectability of liver metastases from colorectal cancer
  • Summarize current evidence on diagnosis and therapy for metastatic colorectal cancer patients
  • Apply the multidisciplinary approach in the management of metastatic colorectal cancer patients

Target audience

Colorectal  surgeons,  hepatobiliary  surgeons,  medical  oncologists with an interest in colorectal cancer.

Important: Partipants will need to be able to demonstrate up to date vaccination certificates for hepatitis B, measles, rubella and tuberculosis.

An  application  has  been  made  to  the  EACCME ® for  CME accreditation of this EXCEMED “Preceptorship course in metastatic colorectal cancer management ” to be held in Liverpool, UK.
