Download the brochure

Multiple  sclerosis  (MS)  is  a  multifaceted  neurological  disorder  whose management  requires  a  multidisciplinary  team  of  highly  specialised healthcare professionals.

The  availability  of  new  and  sophisticated  diagnostic  tools  and  the discovery of new treatments has made daily clinical practice even more challenging for physicians involved in MS patient management. Tailoring the treatment to individual patient needs and establishing the right time to start therapy or to switch from traditional first-line disease-modifying therapies to other first or second-line therapies are the biggest issues. The  goal  of  this  learning  activity  is  to  update  participants  about  MS pathogenesis  and  diagnostic  criteria  and  to  provide  a  comprehensive overview  of  current  and  future  disease-modifying  therapies.  This  will enable emerging knowledge to be integrated with clinical practice.

Learning objectives

By attending this live educational course learners will be able to:

  • Explain the role of genetic and environmental factors in multiple sclerosis pathogenesis
  • Integrate clinical, neurophysiological and MRI findings to achieve MS diagnosis and exclude differential diagnosis
  • List risks and benefits of currently available drugs for MS

Target audience

This programme is appropriate for neurologists with MS as their main area of practice and scientists working in this field.
