Endocrinology and Metabolism

EXCEMED – Excellence in Medical Education is the new name of Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF). Our new name reflects the independent nature of our educational offerings and marks an exciting point in our evolution. The change does not affect the structure, management or portfolio of the Foundation.

EXCEMED activities cover a wide spectrum of issues in endocrinology and metabolism, in both adult and paediatric setting, including thyroid diseases and inborn errors of metabolism, such as PKU.

In each case, through CME-compliant live events, online courses and dedicated publications, our mission is to educate medical and healthcare professionals to improve patient care and outcomes.

With the increasing recognition of the close relationship between diabetes, hypertension and other cardiovascular conditions, EXCEMED has decided to extend the coverage of the 'cardiovascular' section of the website and to focus more generally on cardiometabolic conditions.

This new microsite will support medical education across a range of specialisms in cardiometabolic medicine, including  hypertension, diabetes, arythmias, and cardiac, cerebral and peripheral limb ischemic diseases.

To achieve this aim, all the educational materials related to diabetes have been moved from the endocrinology and metabolism section and are hosted in the cardiometabolic section.

Registered users should visit their profile page at 'MyEXCEMED' and make sure they have subscribed to receive cardiometabolic updates.
