EXCEMED’s PKU Academy interviewed Nicola Longo MD PhD, on his views on published guidelines for PKU, current challenges to treating patients with this life-long condition, and the difference to quality of life that the recent approval by the FDA of pegvaliase injection for adults with PKU will make.

Professor Longo is Professor of Pediatrics and adjunct Professor of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, USA, and has basic and clinical research interests in disorders of fatty acid oxidation and carnitine metabolism and the development of novel treatments for metabolic disorders including phenylketonuria, organic acidemias and lysosomal storage disorders.
