Encourages membership from all physicians and scientists involved in thyroid disease and research. Aims to advance the knowledge of basic and clinical thyroidology and enhance interest in the practice of thyroid-related medicine and promotion of relevant research in thyroidology. Active congresses until 2012, but no evidence of guidelines or publications, or future events.

The Asia Pacific Endocrine Society (APPES)
Regional paediatric endocrine society for those with an interest in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the Asia Pacific region. Major objectives of Society are: To promote the best standards of care and be an advocate for the rights and quality of life of young people with endocrine disorders and diabetes; To promote education and information sharing about paediatric endocrine disorders and diabetes amongst all health providers and the community; and To be a forum for interaction between health professionals within the disciplines of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the Asia Pacific Region.

European Society of Endocrinology (ESE)
The ESE promotes for the public benefit research, education and clinical practice in endocrinology by the organization of conferences, training courses and publications, by raising public awareness, liaison with national and international legislators, and by any other appropriate means. Major activities include the annual European Congress of Endocrinology. ESE has five official journals: European Journal of Endocrinology, Journal of Endocrinology, Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, Endocrine-Related Cancer and an interdisciplinary Open Access Journal, Endocrine Connections.

European Thyroid Association (ETA)
The ETA promotes knowledge in the fundamental and clinical thyroid field, and improves knowledge of the thyroid gland and its diseases. The Annual Scientific Meeting regularly attracts more than 300 abstracts and over 500 active participants. The ETA also has a dedicated website containing guidelines.

Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS)
LATS promotes the best strategies for management of thyroid diseases among Latin American countries. Its meetings are held every 2 years and encourage both clinical and basic researchers to share new findings in the thyroid field.
